Whitecliffs is an interesting tourist and mining town in the Outback. The mines were dug primarily on two opposing hills with the town in the middle. Now, many of the old opal mines have been converted into undergrounds houses and hotels. The towns people use their roofs to collect water and the solar to generate electricity. Fuel and supplies come in by truck across vast distances.
