Spinifex (Triodia pungens) is an example of hummock grass.Spinifex (Triodia pungens) is an example of hummock grass. Notice the right hand side of the snapshot. The inter-hummock space can produce annual herbage after periods of significant rain. Spinifex has a high terpene content and burns with a high flame height and black smoke.
