The tundra regions of Eurasia extend from the Scandinavian countries of Europe to the Bering Strait encompassing the entirety of the northern coastline with alpine occurring predominantly in the central Asian mountains. These areas are characterized as cold, treeless landscapes with low-growing plant species that can withstand harsh climate. Plant species are primarily composed of grasses, forbs and lichen with some shrub species present.
